Flying Donna
Brian and I went up to the hill this evening to fly Donna our young female peregrine falcon. I have just one word to say about her flying – AWESOME!!!
Welcome to Cindy
Cindy our 9 week old vermiculated owl arrived home today. We had to go to the UK for to get her. She is lovely and is grey in colour. I will post a photo of her soon.
Update on new peregrine
Donna is flying really well to the lure. She is starting to venture out further. She is also showing a great interest in wild pigeons. I am trying to keep her more interested in the lure and not the pigeons!!!
Donna flies freely for the first time
Brian took Donna, our 14 week old peregrine up to the hill yesterday evening. She flew freely for the first time. She flew brilliantly to the lure. She made about seven passes. Her flying weight, at the moment, is 2lb. She has a lovely temperament and is a great little bird. She is a great addition to the school.
Update on Donna
Brian took Donna, the peregrine out flying last evening and she flew 75 metres to the glove. This evening Brian had her flying to the lure. Donna is one, great little falcon.
Photo of new peregrine falcon, Donna
Hi,
Brian was on the hill yesterday flying some falcons and hawks. The weather was lovely and all the birds flew really well. Brian took Donna, our 13 week old, peregrine falcon out to a nearby park yesterday evening. She flew 35 metres from a block to his glove. She did this three times. For such a new bird, we are delighted with her progress. Brian will take his time with her and build up a relationship with her and build up her confidence. Here is the first photo of her. Isn’t she beautiful?
Update on Donna our new peregrine falcon
We are delighted with our 13 week old peregrine falcon, Donna. She had great fun in her bath today. Later on in the evening, she flew about 5 metres from her perch to Brian’s glove. She is a real little jewel!!

Update on our new peregrine
Hi,
Our new peregrine falcon, Donna has settled in really well. She is very placid and relaxed. She can be hooded easily. She pays no attention to the dogs. She hops onto the glove with or without food. She weighs 2lb 2oz at the moment. She is a lovely bird. We will let her settle in fully before we start to think about training her.
Will keep you posted.
Brian
A big welcome to Donna
Hi all,
We have just arrived back home after collecting Donna. She is beautiful and quite big for her age. At the moment she has a quiet demeanor. We are getting used to her and she is getting used to us. We love her.
Oh! By the way, she is our new peregrine and the latest addition to our falconry family. We will give her time to settle in and get used to her new surroundings. We will give plenty of handling and TLC. I will put some pics of her on facebook when we get some.
